The Secret of NecroNancy
A downloadable NES game
"AN UNDEAD SUMMONING PUZZLE PLATFORMER FOR THE NES."
Play as Nancilla. She is your ordinary, typical, everyday average girl.... raiding a Paladin Fortress to recover pages of the Necronomicon. Which she will use to bring back her parents, pets, and annoying little brother from the dead.
Necronancy is an undead summoning puzzle platformer. You cannot attack the heavily armored knights yourself. So you will need to learn how to summon minions like Mr Bones, Skello Kitty, Chompers, and other unspeakable skeletal abominations to clear the path forward.
This game was created for the ByteOff 2022 challenge. It was a one month game jam where you build a new 8-bit game for the original 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System.

The demo is available here for free as a ROM which you can download and play using your favorite emulator. This is a game I would very much like to complete after my larger game projects at www.Artix.com are launched.

This game looks awesome, and I can't wait to give it a play-through!
This rom crashes the nesDS emulator running on my DSi XL. I'd love to play it there. Not sure if this game is packaged up in some way that nesDS doesn't like or if there is actually a bug in nesDS that this game is tickling. I'd love to play it on my DSi, if possible.
Thank you for the kind words! NecroNancy is a Mapper 30 NES game. To make it work on your DSi XL, you could download a program to hack the ROM and make it Mapper 2 instead.
