BackwardsQuest is a fantasy adventure that you play in reverse. You are a Dark Lord wielding a cursed sword made of teeth. You just slew the King. But why? You were about to do the same to the Princess until she cast that pesky Reverse Time Spell. Now your twisted story will be revealed… from the end, all the way to the beginning.

 BackwardsQuest was originally created as a submission for the ByteOff V game jam. It was created in NESMaker, coded in 6502 Assembly Language, and designed to run on real 1985 NES hardware. You can download this game and play it on your computer, phone, or tablet using an emulator.

Hope you enjoy the game! BackwardsQuest is a project I have been wanting to make for so long. Grateful to the game jam's theme for creating the opportunity for this to finally happen. Like most of the NES games I have worked on, the long term plan is to continue BackwardsQuest as a full game. Also to remake it as a modern game for devices using Artix Entertainment's Project Omni.
